The Louisiana Superdome is home for the New Orleans Saints, Tulane Green Wave, collegiate bowl games as well as high school playoffs and championships. With more then 23 games scheduled and hundreds of hours of practice the Superdome turf system needs to withstand the intense rigors of high caliber athletes. "Football is a high contact sport," said Danny Vincens, the Superdome's Assistant General Manager. "We needed to know the field we selected was designed specifically to address that level of contact."
The Sportexe Momentum 41 synthetic turf system in the Superdome is the largest installation of turf to date for Sportexe covering an astounding 121,412 square feet. The Momentum turf system was first installed in the summer of 2004 and has been the turf system of choice for the facility. The infill consists of a sand and rubber mix that optimizes performance and Safety.
With the combination of infill, and Strenexe Fiber the Momentum synthetic turf system provides a consistent and durable playing surface for some of the&ret;&car;country’s top football athletes. Those attributes were exactly what the Superdome management staff required when searching for the right synthetic turf system for one of the country’s premiere football facilities.
"We've been impressed with Sportexe as a company … the field speaks for itself – it was grassy and beautiful the day it was installed and today it looks the same."
